Campus SceneryChung Hwa University of Medical Technology (CUMT), originally known as China Junior College of Medical technology, was established in 1968 in Jen-Te County, Tainan Hsien for the purpose of offering academic opportunities for youths interested in medical care. At the initial stage, there was only one five-year day time program containing three departments for junior high school graduates. The two-year day time program and night time school for senior high school graduates were offered in 1988. In the year of 1999, school was upgraded from a Junior College to a College of Technology. The following is a brief list of the establishment of each program as well as departments.

  • 1973 Department of Food Nutrition
  • 1980 Department of Industrial Safety and Hygiene
  • 1988 Two-year night time program and Department of Health Care Management
  • 1989 Department of Industrial Safety and Hygiene
  • 1996 Department of Early Childhood Caring and Education
  • 1998 Department of Cosmetics Application and Management
  • 2000 Two-year baccalaureate on-the-job program (weekend division): Departments of Food Nutrition and Occupational Safety and Hygiene
  • 2000 Four-year baccalaureate program (weekday full-time division): Departments of Medical Technology, Food Nutrition, Occupational Safety and Hygiene
  • 2001 Four-year baccalaureate program (weekday full-time division): Department of Nursing
  • 2002 Four-year baccalaureate program (weekday full-time division): Departments of Biological Science and Technology, Early Childhood Caring and Education, Information Management, Environment and Safety Engineering
  • 2003 Four-year baccalaureate program: Department of Cosmetic Science
  • 2003 Institute of Biological Science and Technology
  • 2004 Four-year baccalaureate program: Department of Hospitality Management
  • 2006 Four-year baccalaureate program: Departmen of Sports Health and Leisure
