Department of Food Nutrition

Introduction
To response to the technological trends and changes in the social structure, we divided our academic area into two groups. One is the department of Food Science and technology and the other is the department of Food Nutrition. There are four programs in our departments: the Master ‘s program, the four‐year college program, the two‐year college program, and the five‐year junior college program. The teaching and educational objectives which are shown as follows are different in each program. 

Education
Objectives and curriculum Food Nutrition Department of the Ministry of education during the day and has a Food Science and Technology group and nutrition science group, we provides different learning institution of choice for the best science and technology of food nutrition: Day Division: Four-year and two-year program for undergraduate students; five-year program for junior college. Night Division: Four-year and two-year program for undergraduate students. Educational Objectives of Subgroup of Food Science and Technology To teach and train students to be competent in food processing, quality management and sales capabilities and become professionals in this area. Students can have a healthy philosophy and professional ethics. Students will have international perspective and concepts of lifelong learning. Educational Objectives of Subgroup of Nutrition Science To train students to be professionals in the counseling of medical nutrition, healthy food nutrition and the promotion of community nutrition. The training of nutritionist in clinical and community organizations. To train students to become professionals in the restaurants with healthy food ,college dining areas, quality control , research and development, and other professional areas. To become talents in related nutrition research institutions, or biomedical research.
Equipment and Facilities
The Department of Food Nutritionhas excellent research facilities including fully equipped chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, nutrition, and molecular biology laboratories; food-processing pilot plant complex; bioprocessing/fermentation pilot plant; and sensory science lab Teaching and research laboratories contain sophisticated analytical equipment, including GC/MS, HPLC/MS, UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometer, food texture analyzer, and texture analyzer Food Inspection and Chemistry Laboratory Five digits of precision scales, water activity meter, Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer, fast fiber stripping device, high-speed refrigerated centrifuge, spectrophotometer, electrophoresis, and other related equipment.
