Introduction
This college was founded in 1968 and upgraded to Chung Hwa University of Medical Technology in 1999.  The university is not only known for training medical professionals and technicians, but also helping students to cultivate and form good healthy exercise habits. The university supports Physical Education including curriculum design, sports field construction,athletes training and a variety of physical exercise.

Educational Objectives and Curriculum教育目標與課程
The purpose of the PE office is to help all students in this university develop basic physical strength, offer opportunities to participate in different types of sports and activities. Furthermore, offering students more chances to be active,to apply taught knowledge on sports and health. In the wish of helping students cultivate interests and hobbies in exercise, and maintaining this for life.

Staff
The PE office is an administration unit of the university, located in the same building of the Department of Sports, Health and Leisure. There are 15 full-time teachers in the office, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 7 assistant professors, 1 lecturer and 1 coach.

Equipment and Facilities
There are eleven professional gym and facilities for teaching and practicing sports in this department (office), including:

  • Billiard court

  • Dancing classrooms
  • Physical Fitness Classrooms

To fulfill the increasing demands on professionals in the industries of health, sports and leisure activity, PE office helps students cultivate alternative specialties.

Course Description 
There is a variety of PE classes. The PE office divides classes into three main different categories: 1) health oriented classes, 2) interests cultivating classes, and 3) practical and application classes.
The details are as follows:
1. Health Oriented Classes

  • Theory and Practices on Health Fitness 
  • Management on Health and Leisure
  • Appreciations on Sports

2. Interests Cultivating Classes

  • Ball Sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Billiards, Softball, Golf
  • Physical Strength: Track and Field, Fitness, Swimming, Flywheel Aerobic
  • Aerobic and Yoga
  • Martial Arts: Taekwondo

3.  Practical and Application Classes

  • Fitness Group Class
  • Weight Management Class
  • Leisure and Sports Management Class
  • Physical Strengthening Class
